Aberrant Brazilian Rainbow Boa II

panhead Sep 10, 2007 09:10 PM

Here are a couple more photos I took today. To those that asked. I am not selling this little one yet. As for the parents, they are normal looking brazilians that I purchased a few years ago from different customers. Thanks.

I don't know how to add more photos to a current post, but here are a couple photos of another female breeder that I have.
I don't know if these spots are genetic or not but hopefully I will find out. Thanks

the spots look more unique than the weird dorsal pattern. Thanks for the pics and do you have pics of the parents. Although I don't believe any calico line has proved inheritable I hope it is a carrier for say "the start of a pied rainbow project" unique animal nonetheless and and thanks again for sharing

Very cool looking BRB. Are you sure you don't want to sell it? J/K Thanks for sharing with us.

I think that if the photos are up on KS, you can only post 3 photos at a time, but I'm not really sure about that. If you photos are up on a place something like photobucket, then you can post a bunch of photos at a time. Just insert the [img]tags. Not sure if this is what you were talking about. Hope it helps.

Perhaps you should contact Brian Sharp. He has a male "Calico" BRB that exhibits this same trait, but more abundantly. Perhaps you two might unlock the secrets of these white spots if the two were to breed. Just my $0.02.

Wow very beautiful, and the spots are quite interesting. Should be fun to see in the future what that all may lead to.

Thanks for the pics, as that is an amazing looking brb. I would love to have an animal like that, but also know you may need to interbreed it to see if the traits are genetic. Thus, if it is genetic it will be a few years before you know.

Also, a few months ago I was working in the Twin Cities area and stopped by your shop. It was nice to see a shop so focused on snakes!

Bob, I have a large collection of ball pythons (200 adults) and on a breeding loan a group of barron's racers and a pair of piebald mussaranas that I am growing up. The girlfriend has a group of egyptian tortoises, crested geckos, bearded dragons and a pair of young aldabra tortoises. That's pretty much it for personal animals. But then there is a WHOLE lot of stuff in the store. Some of the snakes that we have on display are regular breeders. Dumerills boas, carpet pythons, maclotts pythons (57 eggs from two females this year) and a few colubrids.

Thanks for posting more pictures of that cool BRB. Please keep them coming!

I've been to your store several times. I saw my first Woma Python there many years ago and since haven't been able to get over how pretty they are. You have a really nice shop there, and I always enjoy browsing through. Do you keep the aberrant BRB in the shop? If so, I may have to come through in a few weeks and see it for myself!
