Eye color

PHRatz Sep 11, 2007 10:32 AM

A few weeks ago that was a discussion here... I recall some people said the color of the red eyes in males tends to change from time to time.
Chip my dog chewed male has never had red eyes, I've had him since Oct. 2005.
He is the most picky eater I have & it's very difficult to get vitamin/mineral coated insects/foods into him.
Because it's been so tough to do that I bought liquid vitamins & calcium and started making him take a small dose once a week.

I took him outside for a walk in real sunlight last week then when it was time to bring him inside I looked at his eyes & they are sooooo red now, just beautiful!
I'm thinking it must be the vitamins.
Whatever did it for him, his eyes are a beautiful shade of red!

I have a male that I think was wild, not a pet.
He has never red eyes.

I've been using Jurassi brand liquid calcium for quite a while now. It's fairly easy to find I think.. I believe I've seen it listed with several different herp suppliers.

I had some T-Rex liquid vitamins but they were so old I threw them away & can't even find those anymore. I looked all over the web & found one I'd never heard of before. Actually though I'm not sure which website I found this one on... may have been reptilesupply.com
It's Zilla brand food spray vitamin supplement with beta carotene instead of liquid vitamin A.
I liked that fact so I bought it. So far it seems to be doing a good job for us.

Thank you Patsy
Keep in mind I'm assuming that the vitamins caused the red to show up in Chip's eyes. I think it's a pretty good guess since they never were red until we started doing this but either way- he needs his vitamins & he wasn't getting enough until I bought this stuff.
