new junos hatching

jim_d Sep 11, 2007 06:18 PM

These three junos are out so far. I did have to slit the eggs after finding 2 dead in the egg on sunday. I think the substrate was a little too wet and the incubation temp a little too low. so far so good, I am happy already but I am hoping for a few more healthy ones still to come.

Jim, nice looking junos. I had my first bad clutch of alternas for the year.My clutch of five buffalo creeks went full term and at 60 days I slit the eggs to check on them and all five were fully formed but dead in egg. There bubble heads tells me that the substrate was to wet but two other clutches of alternas in the same box hatched fine and another I slit open (five sandersons) at 55 days to make sure and they are all fine?

I hate that when it happens.
