Hey guys, quick question.
In a rack with 32qt tubs and temps of about 85 and hot spot at 91. Bedding is cypress mulch. What should the average humidity be inside the tub? Its holding at about 65 - 70%, but I am wondering if it needs to be lower, I was thinking it should be about 50%, if so I will need to dry the mulch out a bit.

The cypress is gonna dry out on its own soon enough. I use cypress and I keep my humidity at around 45-55%, although it spikes when I occasionally wet it down real good. I sometimes let it dry out really good also in all the tubs. I like to give them some variation.
Also, some people run their humidity higher all the time. I dont think you need it any higher than 45-55%, and (knock wood) I havent had any RI's?

ball pythons do not live in the tropics. 30% should be good.

As long as your snakes are shedding completely on their own and they aren't living on constantly wet substrate then your humidity is perfect. I wouldn't get too preoccupied with the actual number.
