Anaheim highlights

Sorry no pics but I did want to mention a few of my greater moments in Anaheim this past weekend.

First and foremost, I got to see my old friends Ron and Mary Huffaker from my East bay Vivarium days. It's been close to thirteen years since I've seen Mary. She looks great and has just as bright and cheerful an attitude as ever. It was super cool to talk to her. She reminded me how lucky we are to be able to work with these amazing animals.

Next, I got to see the columbian ghost in person. I know it was mentioned in Dave's thread. But I just have to add, the animal really is breathtaking. It's lit a real fire under me to get on the Brazilian ghost.

Finally, I got to have an interesting conversation with a frenchman named Iman Gleu. We talked at length about locality breeding vs. breeding for particualr traits. Quirky guy but seems like he'll be fun. He says he checks into this forum every now and then, so watch out for him. We may have another Bob on our hands (did I just type that?)

Sorry for the lack of pics. Just wanted to let everyone know thta we can throw a good show here on the west coast as well.

Mike

Quirky huh? I must have been a little slow that morning. Well, I'm convinced on branching into the BRB's, but still not sure of the company here....lol. Let's see if I got the gist of things........every day is picture day, O/T or not. When I do get the snakes, pics must be posted within an hour or less. Introductions (like that Reako fool) don't really count if it's your wife's/girlfriend's snake and aren't even necessary if pics are posted. People that ask questions that would get them broiled on other KS forums actually get treated fairly with respect and honesty....what's wrong with you people? Did I mention anything about pics yet. The saving grace is that Colling guy seems to like the little Rosys......hummm, maybe! Seriously, thanks for the conversation Mike, pleasure to meet you. And Bob, you may just be too accepting.

Pics, gotta post pics, funny you didn't know that

Welcome to the forum Eimon, hope you stick around and enjoy/contribute.

This forum as you have noticed is pretty awesome, Rainbow keepers seem to be really nice folks. Very supportive and willing to help/answer questions. And no, flaming is not allowed here, not that anyone could really stop it but not encouraged at all!!! IMO part of the reason our forum is THE most popular current forum on KS, folks would rather hang out here and post stuff (even off topic for rainbows) here then make any of the other forums their "main" forum. I visit several forums and post on topic stuff in them. But this one is always my favorite and the only forum where I feel welcome to post about pretty much anything.

Pics are not required within an hour, only within an hour of us knowing you got them!

And yeah, I thought the little rosies were cool, not that I want one, just like looking at other stuff. I've noticed there are two schools of herp keeping. Those that want to have noahs ark, a pair of everything. Others like myself like to focus on one or two species (even a few) but have many specoimens and a very diverse gene pool.

Did I mention we like pics

One of my fav pics:

One last thing, if you do branch into Rainbows, BRB's rule and they're a lot like Lay's potato chips, betcha can't get just one!!!!

can't believe I missed that Yeah, as I read through the threads the past couple of weeks I really noticed the lack of "spit." The Jasmine threads were quite remarkable in that respect. I've been on forums for a long time now, and stuff like that always turns ugly, but not here. Kudos to you folks! You don't have to want a Rosy, but since you even gave them the time of day, you're OK...hehe. I was at one of the other Rosy booths (my buddy and I combined) and I now know you stopped by because of the shirt. Too bad I didn't know at the time who you were, I could have ignored you completely...HA! Apparently I didn't get the memo on 2 kinds of keepers. I'm still kind of both, specialized and a lot of other stuff. And that darned potato chip factor....know how that works, so I'm going to be starting with 2 pair. I'm taking over "the best of" a good friends collection (Rosy's and the BRB's) as he down sizes. 2 killer Red phase from Sieb, and 2 high Orange from I think Sieb and Hummel. He picked up about 8 or 10 two years ago, raised them all for a while and selected these for himself. Gotta love it when someone else does all the right work for ya. So yeah, looking forward to it. BTW- nice pic, y'all really should post more of those

Yeah, the use of "spit" seems to be very common even on the other KS forums, been flamed myself and once by a breeder I had purchased from in the past. Guess he had one of those self fulfilling prophecies - that I wouldn't be buying anything from him in the future! Yeah, I'm a sarcstic person, totally willing to dish and recieve but no need to get nasty about it.

LOL, you're a fence sitter, can't decide which to be, GP or specialist! Hey, whatever works!!

Wow, sounds like you're gonna get a really nice jump start with those two pair. Congrats on swooping a ready made project, almost ready to produce!!

Oh yeah, where are your pics? Huh? You say you got stuff, let's see the jpegs to prove it

BTW, did you see the ghost CRB? OMG it was soooooo cooooolllll, frost on the glass even!!

Yeah this is about as friendly as a forum as you're gonna get. I was gonna respond to that post but figured it was better that I didn't cuz my mother told me once or twice (okay a lot of times) "if you don't have anything nice to say than don't say it at all." All I can say is "kids will always be kids" I guess but what you gonna do so you got some rainbows well where are the pics cuz the one hour jpeg deadline is up. You may have to buy a posting privelage agreement from me for maybe $7 maybe $10 depending on how fast I get itlol Congrats on getting on the rainbow wagon and hangout awhile here cuz Dave has us checking out all kinds of pics of his distinct collection and I don't know about you but I love bci morphs so he has us making our Xmas lists earlier and earlier and talking genetics is awesome. I am so intrigued by it but I have much to learn though so I love the subject. This got long quick and I do tend to babble so I'll stop here for now and of course welcome to the best forum that ks has to offer
Bob

TimS Sep 13, 2007 06:44 PM

take a second breath lol in and out in and out deep slow breaths now repeat after me i will not babble on this forum i will start to respect that tims rainbow boa male is hott and should give him my hypo rainbow because of that i will no longer offer insulting offers for his male but up the anti to a min of 3 cages of energy drinks 3 bottles of liquid ivory soap (goes down smoother 1000 crickets 1000 small meal worms 500 wax worms and since i cant have first born then some sort of minion to do the dirty work around here lol

strictly4fun Sep 13, 2007 10:22 PM

Timmaylol I will have you know that I have a 20% discount at Petco so I can get that stuff relatively cheap so you might be selling yourself short but haha it's on the way already and I added an extra bottle of liquid soap for that oh so dirty mouth of yours No more insults NOT
Bob

TimS Sep 13, 2007 10:43 PM

how could you lol i dont care how much you pay for it i can get it for less prolly just the fact of i dont have to buy it then lol he is a pretty one tho specialy at night time woweee he is smokin in the daytime also but geesh even with his not your around your neck snake temper he is still a good boy easy to move and handle so to say.

Eimon Sep 14, 2007 01:13 AM

Now ya see here Bob, you're off to a bad start. Come on bro, I may be new to this forum, but no way can you get me like that If you were planning on that 7 or 10 bucks to help you on Timmay's PetcoPals shopping spree, take a closer look. "I'm taking over" not "have taken over" implying a near future event. So the jpeg hour clock hasn't quite started yet And nothing wrong with Bci's and morphs, but you should know by now ima liking the "little" ones. Although I do have a Sonoran Desert Bci. And Dave, I haven't found a fence style yet that's comfortable enough to sit on. Let me rephrase, I specialize in snakes, don't have a lizard, turtle, frog, etc. How's that! Tim, keep up the Bob watch. I'm thinking this forum is going to be a blast.............
