Shannon hooked me up with a stunning pair of these - American River locale kings.

This one has perfect, totally un-broken bands - and kicks ass!

These are het hypo.

Thanks again bro!!

The line that produced the group I recently picked up is pure locale, including the founding 'ghost' male.

I really dig these guys..

Yeah ghosts are definately awesome.
Mine have some nice purple colors to them.

My friend Ryan hooked me up here... I'm going to breed this guy to my banded Elfin Forest Cal's as well as my Blue Eyed Blonds - which originated from the Elfin Forest locale stuff.

This male will ONLY take pre killed....

Collected this big adult gal myself from one of the last remaining habitats - damn near in the middle of the city....

I was hoping she would produce for me this season but all I got was a small clutch of bad eggs.... Her mate is from LB as well - thanks again Ross!!

I collected this youngster last spring. I was checking out a spot that I really didn't think had Cal kings any more...

I was wrong - and damn happy about it!!!

but I love these nitida. I dig how her dorsal stripe starts with a diamond shape on her neck..

thanks gang!

Those are all very nice Byron. My favorite out of the lot is the baby you found under that log or wooden pole. The thin bright yellow jagged rings give it an awesome look. I'm sure if you brumate that male I gave you, you should get some good eggs next year. I'm sure you know it had nothing to do with your female because she was perfectly cycled. Speaking of the Elfin Forest.....

That's where I found my first S.D. striped king. Here's the two females I picked up this year for my hypo some day.

Talk to you later bro. Let me know when you can get out.

That amel desert cal is awesome looking!

Those are freakin awesome! Really get to see the whole Cal King diverity of flavors w/ your collection. That Long Beach female looks sorta like my dirty little Chatsworth locale boy I found back in April. That Palomar Ghost is KILLER! Sorry I didn't catch you @ the Show. I shoulda given Shannon's table a longer look too. Didn't see all those sweet kings. You're out in Costa Mesa, right. I'll drop you a pm. I think I'll be out in Tustin on Sept 22nd. If you're not busy maybe you can hip me to some cool O.C. herp spots.

Those are all awesome. That long beach female is sweet, and has a really high band count.

I got a pair (hypo and a het hypo) of those sacramento county kings from shannon this year as well. They are pretty sweet. Pics to come shortly.

I am going to breed the female hypo to my male gerold merker hypo next year. I think that they might be the same hypo gene. Gerolds line is from sacamento county as well, although on the sierra side.

merker hypo starting to lighten up at one year...

shannon brown Sep 12, 2007 09:06 AM

Zach,
I am pretty sure that the Merkers are El Dorado county actually.
Also they should have full black venters. Mine are sacremento county (freeport to be exact).I doubt they are the same gene.I have a adult pair of merkers maybe I will do the cross next year to find out.

Well gerold didn't provide me with as exact a location as you did, but he told me that they were from western Sacramento county in the seira foothills. Thats as much as I know. Either way I am curious...
