het for albino marker?

tex959 Sep 12, 2007 11:45 AM

I hatched out this guy two days ago. It's defiantly a het. Albino. My question is that I noticed white spots down his back. Is there a het. albino marker for ball pythons?

To my knowledge there is no marker. But I hatched a few babies that also had white spots like that, first shed and they were gone.Mine were not het for albino.

none that can be proved

but I have noticed in my own het for albinos that *every* baby that has come out has a light spot on the top of the heads. (see pic) That is from 3 clutches all with different mothers.

now that can happen with other snakes as well so you take it for what you want

Can I claim it is a trait that my male who happens to be albino passes down? maybe clutch 4 from the same father is due in afew weeks so it will be interesting to see if all 11 of those have the spot too.
