Laid eggs but...

jv4man1 May 22, 2003 08:14 AM

My pueblan laid eight good eggs this morning. One egg was a round ball off red blood.? The last one came out about 4 am. The problem is that there is at least one still inside and its past 8 am now. Could she still lay it? Would she get egg bound from one egg? Any helpful input would be great. Thanks

but also give us some more information: is the last egg at the vent? if not, how many inches posterior from the cloaca?

good luck.

Well it has now been about 12 hours since the last egg was laid. The egg remaining seems to be about two inches from the cloaca. She doesn't seem to be having any contractions anymore. The egg that came out last had a dark red bloody looking film around it. Like jello almost. Couldn't even tell an egg was inside until I cut it open. It had a long strand connected to it about 6 inches long that came out following the egg. I think it actually broke off as she moved around. Any advice or input would be appreciated. Thanks
