Could this little girl be a ghost?

Shadylady Sep 12, 2007 09:34 PM

Hi, all. I rarely post, but do read messages and look at your pictures. I picked up this little female the other day, thinking she might be a ghost - didn't pay much for her, but you never know..

She shed last nite and it looks pretty clear. Thought I'd get some 'pro' opinions. Either way, she's pretty and I like her.

not a ghost but is a great buy.nice looking normal.how big and old is this snake? most younger animals start out bright and lose color and get darker with age.Hopefully yours retains its color nice find.

Tahnks - she looks to be a young two year old. Stretched out she's nearly 3 ft.

next time I post a question on the BP Forum.

jyohe Sep 14, 2007 03:46 PM

LOL

.....you asked.......I answered

it looks normal........nice.....but normal.......

not a ghost......

yellowbellies, fires, and all kinds of made up named wierd things...are just normals......normal with hidden genes inside..

black back are normals.....they are not recessive.....they just pop out more black backs.....not always......not all the time.....but they have BB babies........(I been making some nice black backs for 10 years now.......white backs, pastel black back and all.......just normals....)..

.........breed it........to a really light colored sweet mate......it has dark black on it.......I sugest even a really light pastel to start with.......the black may be really nice and dark and the background light........albino would be good for making hets also.......

........have fun........don't let us bother you.........we are mean to everyone....

and I actually almost never look at the name.......I just write.....I don't know any of you guys .......I don't even know what sex most of you are.......

no....I won't pop anyone......it might hurt too

Thanks - really - I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

Was having a crappy week at work and my sense of humor had vanished.

She is definitely not a hypo.

Keep in mind coloring such as this girls can sometimes be attributed to stress, hormones and/or poor diet, lack of nutrition. In my years doing rescues I've seen several balls that will come in with that lighter ghostlike coloring and after some proper husbandry and a few sheds look fairly normal.

Hopefully your girl will hold her color - she is a beautiful dinking project.

Congratulations and Good luck!!!

and sorry 'bout my temper above - sometimes work sucks ya know?

You aren't the first to suggest stress, etc. causing the clear sheds. Now I'm anxiously waiting for her to shed again - better go feed her LOL!

Someone also suggested she could simply be a low quality / wild caught hypo.
