Iguana Tongue

The last two days my 7 yr old male iguana has been putting the tip of his tongue out of his mouth. He will put it back in when I open his mouth, but later I find it back out. Any ideas why he might be doing this? Thank you.......Melissa

How hot is his enclosure? Sometimes when an Iguana starts to overheat they will not necassarily "pant" per say but open their mouths to try and cool off.
