Feeding Tips

helodermidfan Sep 13, 2007 03:03 PM

Any tips on switching a snake from live to f/t. I have two stubborn cal king juvies that wont except f/t to save their lives, i've tried, braining, scenting etc to no avail. Any help would rock, everything else including mole kings eats f/t fresh killed, live, scented unscented etc etc. Just two stubborn cal kings.

thanks again in advance

I have two this year doing the same thing.. They almost always come around.. I sometimes put a small live one in at the same time as a f/t and they will grab both. Then go from there.
On really stubborn ones I've used B-in-B...(brained in bag)
A brown paper bag (single can size) is used and I put the snake and a brained f/t pink in overnight. Very dark and very calm, inside the cage I normally keep the snake in....just in case of an escape..he only "gets out" into his cage.
