Great find!....

Sort of like this hyper-melanized "Miami" corn I had years ago.

I found some strange looking milks like that before,"partial hypo","piebaldish",etc.... Here is a simple test to see if its genetic without waiting the 6 years to breed 2 generations.... As it goes through shed cycles pay particular attention to individual scales. What I have seen in pattern actually varies shed to shed, but I was never able to get them to a 2nd generation to test breed to see if it was definately a "morph". What does this mean? I dont know, but it does open up a whole bunch of possibilities. It might be more along the lines of that mex milk morph the hardys just advertised. It might be environmental. Get it established because there are now a whole bunch of eastern milk morphs to breed it to! Jeff

I am actually going to try to breed him/her this year I have 2 others that I caught were she was caught. I'll try to get pics of her compared to a normal one. and also shes about 3 feet long.

Just get it feeding, and then pay attention to the scales as it sheds. You might get lucky in 1 generation, but just look at Ted T's torturing experience....I dont know if I would have the stomach or the patience for that. Good luck, keep us posted! J

There was a photo of an E-Milk in an issue of "Reptile and Amphibian Magazine" several years ago that looked very much like that snake. I'll try to dig up the pic and post it later.

That's a cool looking snake!

that does look the one have but a little lighter but has exactly the same tan color. ALSO GOOD NEWS on the one I have she took a F/T pinkie yesterday. He/she is going into shed right now I'll post another pic after he/she sheds. Did you hear anything more on the one in the pic you posted??? also when should I stop feeding and start the cooling??

This reminded me of a milk caught in Conneticut July 1994 featured in REPTILE & AMPHIBIAN magazine Oct 1995 issue. Not as much black pigment but a similar messed up pattern. It was collected by a fellow who planned to breed it.

There is a name I havent heard from in forever. Walt Deptula sure had a great collection, I wonder whatever happened to him? I havent seen any of his progeny anywhere...ghost coastals, hypo and anery mandarins, anery utah mt kings,etc.....Walt had "hets" from that snake but as far as I know he never reproduced anything like it. Too bad, but thats what happens many times with wc animals.
