I used to use Healthy Habitat, and never had any problems with it. I use Chlorhexidine now, which I like better because it's cheaper and I can make lots of it = lasts a long time. I don't trust any cleaner entirely, and always remove snakes from their cages when cleaning, even if the product claims to be safe to spray around them.

What exactly is chlorhexidine? I googled it & found it to be a mouthwash . . . how does one go about making it? why is it so useful in cage cleaning over other products?

Aka Nolvasan, aka Virosan. Various companies sell it in the classifieds here under "supplies". Yes, you can use it as a mouthwash, and I've read of it being used as a wash to treat stomatitis and minor abrasions in snakes. It is a virucide and bactericide, and it is used in hospitals as a cleanser and mouthwash also. You can get it pre-mixed (diluted) with water, or buy it undiluted and mix it with water yourself. A little bottle goes a long way.

I'm not saying it is any better for cage cleaning than anything else, but it is economical and has properties that I like.
