Clay County wc trio (several pics)

bbox Sep 14, 2007 12:13 AM

Here are some pics of my Dean,TX (Clay County) trio. Sorry about the very unnatural setting.

Female that did not lay this year (wc 2006, took a little while to get weight on her).

Above female with male (shows contrast)

Female that did lay

Belly of above female (fairly typical)

Belly of male (not typical in specimens from this area, solid black)

Do you find the wc difficult to get onto rodents or do you continue to feed amphibians? Lovely hogs by the way. I'd love to get a pair of mexicans once I free up some space.

They usually go right to mice. I occasionally have to scent on lizards or toads, but I have rarely resorted to feeding anything other than mice.

Mexican Hog's are not found in Clay Co.
