OT experience of a lifetime.....

rainbowsrus Sep 14, 2007 01:30 AM

Just got back from a concert, went to see Foreigner. Was at mountainwinery.com, a really small venue, only around 2000 seats so every seat is pretty close. We had seats in row M (row 13) and they really put on a great show. The lead singer was travelling through the audience. Towards the end of the concert several people had left from some of the very front rows so we moved up. Got to watch them perform Hot Blooded from the second row, about 10 feet away from the stage. the stage is onln one step up from the audience and nothing between the front row and the stage. They were all towards the front of the stage. WOW, totally playing to the audience and they stuck around afterwards and were shaking hands and passing out guitar picks. I shook hands with all but one of the band members, By far the most intimate concert experience I've ever had with a big name band, was amazing OMG!!!

I'm jealous! I love Foreigner, and I'd been hoping to see them this tour, but it looks like I won't be able to.

That's so cool. I love it when concerts end up being a great experience like that.

So, I'm at the concert, at the very end, they're at the edge of the stage tossing/handing out guitar picks, shaking hands. I really think they hed just as much fun as (if not more than) the audience. So, Tommy Gimbal hands me a guitar pick. I see my wife picking up a guitar pick that Jeff Pilson tossed her. Cool, two picks from one show. Wishing I could have gotten one from Mick Jones but hey, quite happy with the two.

So, I'm putting them away last night when it dawned on me, we were at a beach boys concert in the late 80's and who was a guest guitar player.....none other than Mick Jones. And guess what I came away from that concert with....yup, one of Mick's guitar picks. So, I now have the whole set!!!!!!

she just shed yesterday and so I brought her out to a pet shop that hasn't seen one and she prolly didn't like the car ride much at all even though it is very close so I didn't want to stress her out too much but I did take pics of her for like 30 seconds for you

one in the shade

and one real quick in the 100 degree sun for you

and a pic from May for reference for you

she seems to be getting a darker shade of orange for me kind of like tangerinish maybe, hope you like and I guess this is a sneak peek until next month I believe

birthday next month so I have to do something nice for her and the forum so I am thinking a photo shoot and some progress pics but I just fed her today and those so I will have to take some in a few days and lots of them and have a DUW but it will be only of one snake so maybe not but I can try. I also fed my female double het today and she looked very very very dark so I think she might be going into shed but Dave when you get some baby bci's how often do they shed for you. I know I prolly should feed her once a week but I feed her about every 5 days and the guy I got her from feeds his holdbacks every week a rat pup and was feeding mine fuzzies so I gave her about 2-12 grammers when I got her waited a week and fed her about a 18 grammer and now I have her on 20 grammers give or take a gram here and there. She last shed for the breeder on 8-20 so is that too soon for her to be shedding or better yet am I feeding her too often in your opinion. I plan on feeding her every 7 days when I start breeding rats and have her on some 30 grammers or so which prolly isn't to far away so what is your take on this. Her shed dates are
born 6-5
1st- 6-26
2nd- 8-20

hope it helps

rainbowsrus Sep 14, 2007 04:59 PM

Baby BCI are similar to BRB's, they shed every month or two depending on intake and individuals will vary.

IMO go with moderate sized porey once a week and you can't really go wrong. I know a lot of folks, big breeders will feed the babies next to nothing spouting that raising them slow is better. I liken it to a bell curve, too much and you have a fat unhealthy snake, too little and you have a scrawney malnourished also unhealthy snake, go for somewhere in the middle. As long as it's not fat or scrawney then IMO should be more or less OK!

right in the middle lol and every boa i have got from a breeder wasnt scrowny :P it was ust right lol the ones i have delt with atleast stick with how i feel and you said basically one sized meal of apropriate size a week is good and what i hav got from other bo breeders is like i said in other post dont try to make your 1 month old snake breed at 4 months lol dont power feed and dont under feed find that middle and your good to go

strictly4fun Sep 14, 2007 05:08 PM

right now and I have her on a 5 day or so feeding schedule and the male every 7 and the male is looking for food quite often so I thought it would be ok and I've never had a fat snake before but I have seen them posted like s--'s 6 foot 2 year old sunglow and that looks mighty plump for a male but it made lots of babies for him this year too at a young age but thanks for the input
