I am working on Hyde county easterns with my friend Tom Cook.
We have a female that has a raised pattern...she feels almost like a sonoran gophersnake.

He and 2 of the females are Currituck, county NC easterns while one female is a rescued road casualty from a NC county I can't recall right now.
