Question

srsb Sep 14, 2007 12:36 PM

Hi! I am painfully bored at work and looking forward to the MARS show tomorrow.

I am going to be looking for a Trans-pecos rat snake. I have several rat snakes already: black, white sided black, 2 leucistic, everglades.

Is there anything that I should be aware of that is different in the keeping of a trans-pecos?

Thanks!
sonja

is very important to these guys. And apparently the cages that I had did not have good air exchange, as both of mine died. I also love them and think they are gorgeous, but will not risk it again. I have also heard that they need smaller food items than their size would normally dictate. Have fun tomorrow. We are going also.

I just got my first trans pecos about a month ago. He is absolutely great. From what I have been told, ventilation is absolutely necessary (I use a 10 gallon critter cage with a screen top). Check out www.suboc.com for an excellent care sheet and some good info.
