Jim, I noticed your post in the classifieds about Black Gap. Have you checked with Todd Smith to see where his are from? He seems to have some pretty neat looking ones and seems to have high females. I wish i had some extras to send your way.

Good Luck,

Steven Owens

Noooo. But if you have nothing is a good idea for the future. Not many adult Gaps floating around that are available.

If there is one out there,I am just hoping to find a pure gap adult or 3 year old or so female to pair up with him, He is very unique, and I would love to see what the pure locality babies would look like. He is a little difficult to photograph, so here is a head shot that looks about right.

Thanks,
Jim

Go ahead and pick up a nice female '06 '07 from somebody, invest the time to get it up to size... The chances of picking up an adult female gap are slim to none (you actually have a better chance of catching an adult female in my opinion), the only ones I know of that might be on the market have thrown all slugs for a couple of years in a row (not my animals, but not a good investment as a breeding project).

Now for the hard, but not impossible part is to pimp him out on a breeding loan to somebody that either needs a male, or who is interested in his genetics and work out some kind of split of offspring in advance. And also, one person or the other will be entrusting their animal out for at least a few weeks, I would work that out up front as well.

I don't have much to loose by asking, You never know. I should be able to find some hatchlings relatively easy and will probably get some at some point anyway.

Thanks Lance,
Jim
