fellow forum riders , i've heard some real hum dingers about how trades rarely work out well. that to me is unfortunate , the very nature of keeping and breeding snakes lends itself to trading. in the eighties we went to swap meets to meet other "herps" and trade ( or buy ) critters with (or from ) each other.
back then , there wasn't alot of breeding going on , we mostly kept snakes in tanks , and when hadta have a new one , you traded , as you only had so much room to work with.
that being said , most of you have no idea how lucky you are.
racks , internet , organized shows , etc.
thankfully there are some of you who still look for the trade , as the trade section here will testify. trading really implores both parties to have some integrity , a trade becomes much more personal than a purchase.
this past july , i entered into a trade with jared (yeah , like sting and elvis , you don't need his last name , at least not here )i sent him a sub adult morph for some animals not yet born.
today i got my box of goodies from him , one of which was for my daughter , a belated birthday present. all animals were perfect.
jared even went out of his way to insure that my little girl's animal was outstanding , locating exactly what i wanted from another breeder to uphold his end of the deal.
you gotta love that !
saying you care , and actually demonstrating the act can end up being two totally different things. this guy really cares.
sorry 'bout the long one , i could say more , but the smile on my kid's face speaks volumes.
thanx jared , trade on !
