Longest / Largest BRB?

GabooNx Sep 14, 2007 04:42 PM

When I was around 10 or so on vacation at the beach a guy had a HUGE BRB at that time it was one of the larger snakes I had seen. He let the snake swim in the ocean, everyone else of course would stay away but I have loved reptiles since I could walk and was all about petting it, now at that time my largest snake was a typical eastern gardener snake hehe, so maybe what I remember of the huge snake was because I was so young? I have read about typical sized BRB but does anyone have any pics of some huge BRBs? I am talking 10-15 footers? This guys snake had to have been 8"plus it was huge. Of course that was almost 20 years ago lol, bored at work and thought we could get some pics going.. And it was such a tame snake (awesome looking as well) main reason I am going to breed these guys..

Jason,
..The largest ones I have owned have been around 7.5 feet long. The largest I have seen were only slightly larger. There are reports of imported 9 footers from 20 or more years ago. Most of the females grow quickly to 6 feet and then slow down. By the time they are ten years old they are growing really really slow. Those extremely large imported ones in the past could possibly have been 30 or more years old.

I've never heard of a BRB getting more than 8' but I may just not have looked too far into in the past. it would be very cool to see a 15' BRB that would be awesome

My biggest adults are probably less than 7 feet long....10-12 years old.
