Yes, 10 foot probes,

Four single outlets, non-grounded - two prong. One for each outlet.

Yes you can connect multiple heaters to each but will have to split somehow, If using power strip may also need three prong - two prong adapter.

AND, I love mine, by far the easiest to use and fully programable WITH built in adjustable night drop!!!!!

ok thanks ithoguth you were gonna hype it up some more lol but i was just ondering cause i have the boaphile stack pack thigns of the 3' cages and kinda hard to run x amount of cages on 4 outlets lol

strictly4fun Sep 14, 2007 05:47 PM

the stack pack or multiple cages come from Jeff? each cage with its own plug and then you have to put a surge on those and then put a 3 way to a 2 way adapter from the surge to the herpstat? I know that your boaphiles are not on the herpstat just your oaks but hypothetically speaking I mean?

Yes, each cage has it's own power cord. Depends on how many you want to run on one channel but I usually run a standard house extension cord (shortest I can buy). That'll get you up to three. Beyond that I get these two prong adapters that plug onto one outlet and make three. Now you have 5. One more of those and you have 7 and so on.

put a gfi (surge protector) so to speak in between your cages and the thermostat for protection but I catch your drift and thanks

No, I don't but brings up a point, the t-stat will be adjusting "power" to outlet so would a surge protecter work correctly? Don't know the exact methodology used but suspect it's a variable voltage output. Would a surge protector try to smooth out the voltage and/or not work properly at minimal voltages? Hmmmm!!!

i hate surge strips for this reason i have been looking all over for just a multi tap unit instead of surge strip i have found 1 wich has only three spots and another that holds 6 but the 6 slot one is goofy im going shopping over the weekend to try and find somehting that works lol and for any1 when running heat tape or anythign like that if you must use a extention cord use the shortest pooible keeps thigns running good smooth and correct lol

My 6 cages are plugged into one surge protector and that is plugged into my Herpstat. There are no issues as the surge device works to protect against spikes in the power not dips.

Also, the flexwatt used in the cages takes so little power that it is no problem using extention cords (even into other extention cords). Thus, behind my cages, tanks and racks it looks like a huge mess of wires plugged into just three outlets, but in total everything is less than a couple of hundred watts (a hair dryer is 1600 to 1800 for reference).
