well i just felt like seing if any1 had tips on getting these darn mice to breed lol some kind of special love elixer special music candles incense anythign? you would htink one male and 2 girls it would be like party central in there lol

he does have a set of -alls huh?lol cuz they should swell up like crazy when they have a girl around and he will be sniffing her bottom

loaded feed him off and get another guy that will do the job. I've never had a female yet that didn't get some from my guy "Money Mike" and he is a persistent little bugger let me tell you Anything that moves he is all over it unless it has tumors.......lol

to funny my luck i couldnt find another one lol actually i could no prob seems like every where i go every1 has big il adults but no fricken hopper/weans lol

stores and shops buy from people rather than breeding their own so they come as small adults or big adults but nothing fresh off the noonie bottle I would love to buy some weanling rats but I can't buy any so I feed adult mice but I need to start a breeding program for the rats but I wish I lived by Dave's neighborhood lol

i lived by dave lol i would be on the phone every week like daaaave lol i need mice lol rats you to feed my snakes somehtign anythign lol heck i would even pay him hmmm hey dave wanna sell and ship me a few mice lol. hey i wonder if my male mouse umm plays for the other team so to say lol

get another male, even on old one would be better than that young one that doesn't take care of the ladies.

ok so he is lol def adult just not ummm practiced in his field lol ill head up to the store and grab another male and maybe a female to lol think 3 girls and 2 males is to much in one ten gallon tank lol how noticable will it be when they are prego? cause there all getting chubby but thats including the male lol i swear they eat like crazy. i dont know either they are into the rough stuff or fighting at night some times cause ill hear random squeeks etc so maybe who knows i hate mice lol there spose to just breed like well mice lol

those squeeks are prolly the female Tim and how long have you had them together? Right now I have 4 females and Money Mike in a ten gallon and I will be adding a female in about 3 or 4 days after she finishes feedng those little hoppers. If I take away mom now they will grow a lot slower so that is why I'm leaving her over there. In about a week I have another one going in there but I will prolly take a female out by then that is looking like she swallowed a ping pong ball and the one I will be adding is feeding something like 12 real big fuzzies eyes open on a couple. I'll take a pic of a pregnant one for you.

they have been together for some time but at first was not intended breeding they were supposed to be food at one time lol and were not adult size but all were weaned already its been atleast a good month or two now but the first half a month to a month they were getting up to age. both females however were always larger than the male. thanks for takin pics for me i so special lol have i mentioned i hate mice besides my spider mouse

If you got em just weaned then would be at least two months before babies and could be three.

guess the male was just weaned the females were weaned for a bit but not mature yet then they sat in my room for a few weeks while there other friends got fed off lol then they have been in a nice setup with just the three of them for about the 2 month ish time i know it takes some time before babies i just thought i would of seen some action or somethin i dont know lol i know nothing of rats/mice ill admit it

and here is a pic of the mom I will be tossing back in the brothel in a few days

and a pic of a pregnant female about a week away from the ping pong look so maybe 10-12 days pregnant if I had to guess and also the white one is pregnant and the white and grey just added that one today (I love the ones with spots)

they all look so tiny in the pic lol but are far from it the grey and white one and the blackish brown one are the girls all white one is the male oh and BTW before some1 goes them are tiny that crock is huge compaired to them no the crock is just huge lol its the biggest glass one i could find befire i got into huge sizes lol its a big darn glass crock i tell you what lol

the original spider kitty mouse looked alot the same and also climed the top screen but due to a evil male didnt last over night one night lol man he wouldnt leave her alone he was a horn dog lol never again 1.1 mousies always1.2 or more now lol

I would have had another spotted but this would have been a black and white one like the Blue Bell Commercial Cow Well I was cage cleaning I think Wednesday night and I scoop the pine shavings out with my hand (no glove Dave) out of my ten gallons while leaving all the occupants in the cage and just vacuum while chasing them around with my other hand. Only had four left (2.2) and I accidentally sucked up my favorite one the black and white one and I took the bag off of the shop vac I couldn't find and I was kinda sad I really wanted to keep that to breed but it just didn't work out Tim

Don't use the vacuum to clean rodent cages. The vacuum cleaner will smell like rodents forever. Been there done that and Mrsjclarksnakes is still pissed about it.

cant house two males together with prego girls to see a fight cant vacume up mouse crap and sometimes even mice lol so i guess when doing fresh killed live to your snakes a 20 lb. sledge hammer is to much for killing it huh?

three dogs and the vacuum would smell like dogs why not mix some rodent stuff in there I place a few moth balls in the bag department of the shop-vac and you only smell a little bit of moth balls no dogs or rodents so I love it

Tim,
...Rodent sex is not consensual. The male needs to be bigger than the females to force his intentions on them. If he is still smaller than the females he may still not be mating with them.
...I cannot believe I am participating in a thread that got into a discussion of mouse nads.
...We are all nuts here......err perhaps crazy would be a better word to use than nuts in this case.

lol this has been by far one of the most odd topics looks like i pick the good ones lol its ok ill be heading out to grab 2 more adults tomorroe 1 male 1 female lets jsut hope it doesnt get to crazy in there lol i have another cage setup for if things go bad untill next feeding lol

..be careful with two males in the same cage. Also if your females are already pregnant a new male will cause serious fighting among all concerned parties. Mice are nasty little bastards.

thats why i have another cage on hand waiting lol im gonna toss them in and see where it goes if anythign looks even semi fighting its over lol and i think i have said this before i really hate mice lol just the supply here is so low for the size i need i have to do it for a lil while

Hampsters are the meanest, mice are mean, rats are the nicest.... and easiest to breed in my experience.
Also, Mice like it cold (like 70 to 75 degrees and stop breeding if it is too warm). Rats do much better in warmer temps.....even into the low 90's.

well first my hunt for hoppers et cfailed AGAIN but i did find one place while getting my birds nails and feathers trimmed that had 2 adult mice they would let me get you ready for the kicker? first to blow jeffs theroy of male has to be bigger than female gone lol male is alot smaller and younger than the female also the male is a color that i like grey and white goofy pattern AND best for last the female is prego

now the question would it be safe to put my other females in with the new male and prego female and feed off my old male? im not sure if my other girls are prego if they are its really early on since they not super chubs lol or you think its to much of a risk that my others may be prego and the new male would kill babies once born? either way it goes old male mr. balls is goin buh bye lol. and the old females are goin in now or in a lil while once i decide if prego or not. but i hope sooner than later

Don't put your prego females in with the new male cuz technically if they smell another male and/or believe he has stronger genes than the fella that got her pregnant in the first place she will kill her kids and quite possibly the new male will kill the kids cuz they are not his but you will prolly take her out when she is fat. I have 2 or 3 females that are bigger than my male and he lets them know he's getting some one way or another After your female has had 2 litters she might be as big as your male Tim but it may take 3 litters but they get big especially after the first litter. I would throw your females in the new male unless you definately know they are pregnant. Tim I have one black female mouse that once put in the 10 gallon and the other heifers and her pimp Money Mike of course-any other females I add in from that point she will beat 'em up so I have to take her out for a few days until the new one has settled in but this girl is ruthless. Fighting for her man or something but it's okay he sleeping with the 4 other females in the tank but all in all could make for a great Maury show

sounds good if that black pregnant one is pregnant by the male that she is being housed with currently if not I would put her in her own spot so she will feed her babies rather than having sweet nothings whispered in her ear for a couple of weeks by the new guy, then have the babies and refuse to feed them or eat them.

yeah the black prego girl and new grey and white male have been housed together as a pair forever and have had kids before but the lady at the shop i go to to get birds nails and wings done well yeah thats another subject lol she gave me one of their breeding pairs while the girl was prego lol and i HIGHLY doubt my old girls are prego

where are you from? i hear you talkin bout killer temps out side etc and have heard from other ppl where they are from where are you hiding at? you under a brick in hell or what lol

man that must suck to live there lol when it comes to natural disasterz i livein i think the best state we have like none but when it comes to crime rate etc im in the worse city lol could be worse but eh whatever and still no babies popped yet it has to be soon cause this prego girl i got is big lol

I'm not sure on the statistics but I know LA ranks bad (definately in the worst 3 or 5) but N.O. usually has like 350-400 murders a year but since everyone is not back, Texas' crime rate has risen dramatically

yeah the state im in isnt bad at all as far as crime rate etc but the city and certan specific areas are nto good at all i could be in worse tho its funny tho when on certan years that a few select areas in the city have more reported murders than a few other states combined lol now only if we knew how many werent reported lol.

I used to breed my own rodents: one male to 9 females would work out just fine (I hear that 1.4 or 1.5 is better for a 10 gallon tank). I quit raising rodents after I found a good supplier of frozen (http://www.bigcheeserodents.com/) and I figured out that they sell rats for the same price that it cost me to breed/raise them.

ALSO I do not like rats, and I love my snakes. I was spending more time feeding/cleaning my rats than I was for my snakes, and this was the final straw. I do however miss having organically grown live rodents at ANY SIZE I WANTED. I would often do a pure vegetable diet for about 24 hours prior to feeding the rodents to my snakes...never knew if this helped, But it made me feel better.

And yes, males have HUGE NADS.
