Disturbed eggs!!!!!!!!

zachattack Sep 15, 2007 03:08 AM

So my 3 crstie eggs (1 dropped 8/9, 2 dropped about 10 days ago) were sitting on the top of a dresser in my closet in their tupperwares. Well my roomates cats managed to open all the dresser drawers at the same time which caused the whole thing to tip forward. This happened at some point between 9:30am and 3:15pm while i was at class. I came home to find this mess of soil and clothes and fallen drawers, and the eggs were disoriented from their original laid positions but were still contained in their tupperwares. My question is, would it be possible that the disoriented eggs may still go full term and hatch healty or will the die in egg? This is a serious blow to my breeding project, i feel like ive put a year into raising their parents so if they dont make it i will be seriously pissed.

Well if you marked the top of the eggs, just put them back right side up and you still have a chance... If you didn't mark the eggs... Well, make sure you mark them in the future. For the older egg, you could try candling it to see if you can find a ring, make the ring face upwards. Ive knocked eggs off a shelf before, but I had them marked, fixed them and they all hatched just fine. Don't throw them away, whatever you do, keep them until they have gone completely bad.

thanks a lot. i did mark them and i righted them immediately. i candled all of them about a week ago and things looked good. I have them in a cracked drawer in my nightstand out of harms way.

they should be fine. crested eggs are pretty hardy and many people hatch dropped eggs all the time.
