A friend of mine just lost his pancake torts to fire ants! Has anyone had any issues with fire ants attacking there reptiles? I would never think this could happen. Maybe I need to start dusting around my enclosers?

Fire ants huh ? , lol i also house my Cyclura outside, and only find that ants to be a pain in my rear end when i leave sugar filled fruits outside like banana's and grapes and things of that nature, since ants like moist sugar'y foods, but yet i have to find a firant in any of my cages, only the black ants, i do how ever find that fire ants are attracted to blood and open flesch, and have had a problem with them before when my rhino had a nose rub issue and make it bleed the ants came but other than that ants shouldnt be a problem, how ever i do put firant killer and other bug killer outside my cage every month and every three months i put it in the cage(takeing the rhino's out for about 2 days)... but maybe i just have good luck...
any one else have the fire ant problem prob.?
Thanks man! Maybe I'll start putting seven dust around my cage. I also get a ton of little sugar loving ants when I give my kids fruit. I never have had a problem with fire ants and never want to, but got a little woried when a friend of mine lost his breeding pair of pancake torts and 12 hatchlings to fire ants.
