now that they are known to be compatible hopefully more people will be working with these awesome hypos. They are by far the brightest line out there and I can't wait to see the pastel citrus and the citrus honeybee. I know we will be working on these in the very short future. We will even be throwing in a little vanilla to make them really pop.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. This is a bad picture of my Bell hypo pastel adult male. His color is nearly neon. The "citrus" in my opinion is not going to make a better colored hypo pastel.

a higher colored hypo bred to a pastel won't produce a higher colored hypo pastel? I get that there are some really good looking hypo pastels from the various different hypo lines but alot of them loose that brightness as they age. The citrus line hypos get better as they age to fight the curse of the pastel and that problem alot of other hypos have of dulling out as adults. I guess I'm biased and I will admit it. But I can honestly say that I have not seen more than a handful of adult hypos that are brighter than our adult male or the average citrus for that matter.

we all have opinions and some of us are color blind.Terry
you know what's the funny thing. for the last 2 years everyone was saying yes they are beautiful but they aren't compatible even though nobody had done a breeding to find out. now they are proven compatible those same people are saying well they won't do anything different. with the post above it reminds me of what some people did with TSK line of red axanthics. Gulf coast produced a clutch of vanilla ghost(using the blonde line of ghost) x citrus female and they are much nicer already than the straight blonde ghost vanillas. hopefully we will see citrus honeybees and citrus ghost pastels soon to prove these people wrong. I know we will be makeing spider, pastel, and vanilla het citrus this season and with any luck our male vanilla will prove out to be het ghost.

Terry: thanks for buying my hatchling citrus hypo! I too think they are something special! I think the compatability issue may have kept them in the background, but look out. If it is not possible to make a 'better' anything, then why are we doing any of this? I certainly think we will get a different looking hypo with this cross, why shouldn't we; everyone will have the opportunity to pick which they like the best. How much fun this is, and what a bonus to be able to sell a baby here and there! Tom Harbin
