RED Albino SUNGLOWS are here!!!

mdc Sep 16, 2007 03:21 PM

Well, my buddy Dave Lee beat me to the punch with these, but they are everything I thought they would be. The mom of these is a sister to the mom of my red albinos. This is the third female from this same litter that I'm aware of that has produce red albinos and now red sunglows. Let me know what you think of these things.

Those are quite impressive. Are they related to the Jim Peters B type pastel? I know Dave Lee was attempting that breeding.

davel Sep 17, 2007 01:05 PM

sent one of his holdback type b's my way, but she won't be ready until winter 2008...but probably first up for that girl will be a motley.

Sharp strain fans will have to concede that is an incredible animal. I do believe the sharp strain will get better with selective breeding but if you and Dave Lee among others keep up the good work, I don't think they'll be able to catch up!! Congratulations on some gorgeous babies!!

Thanks Tom. Coming from the sunglow king himself, that is quite a compliment. I love these animals soo much, I'm ready to sell my holdbacks to buy these from Dave, lol.

Thanks for all the kind words, but the congrats belongs to Dave Lee. He did a great job with these. To answer one of the above questions, no these are not related to the Peters pastel line. The mom of these and the mom of my red albinos are sisters from a dh sunglow litter produced by Barry Berg in 2002. Dave purchased a dh sunglow and I purchased the best het from the litter.

Thanks again,
Matt Crabe

Last year was the first year I produced them. Here is the best one from 2006 at about 1 year old. I'll get some updated pics of the one I kept soon. This one was sold.
