The leo geckos of my dreams!

Flavia Guimaraes Sep 17, 2007 04:55 AM

I imported a pair of giant leopard geckos last week.

Ron, the owner, exported them from the USA to India (New Delhi) where im living now. They arrived by plane on friday night. When i opened the box i was afraid they may be sick after such a long trip but no, they were healthy and everything was so clean inside the box i thought they were made of pink plastic!!

They are sooo cute and perfect i can hardly believe they belong to me now! They are sooooo big and heavy i couldnt believe they are leopard geckos.!I think they are 3 times the size of a regular leo gecko!!

I do not know about you guys but although im crazy about leos i always thought they were a little bit small and fragile to become my prefered pet.So when i saw those huge pink "monsters"so heavy and big i could handle them without fear of hurting them i felt i finally got the leos of my dreams!lol!!

Photos will come soon!!!

Flavia

Thats true!Marvellous animals! They arrived in perfect shape even afeter such a long trip.

The male is already 110 grs but he is so heavy and large he looks like he is at least 150 grs.

Can you post the photos of yours? You have a Tremper too, no?

I have a large TRemper albino male, he's just around 100g, so he's not "officially" a giant. Not directly from Ron, though. Temperment is amazing on his lines! I'll see what I can do about a pic for you. I have some baby pics of him somewhere. Just bought him a gf for next year's breeding too, I can't wait for that! She's a beautiful trmeper girl from JMG, also very good people.

Mine is 110 and at least 10 inches. I think he is not one year old yet. I dont know about the official criteria for giants but mine is a giant because his shoulders are huge, his body is large and big and his head is almost the size of a monkey tail skink size, lol!!

What are the official criteria for giants?

Thanks ,

Flavia

I'm not sure about any "official" criteria, but generally an adult over 10 inches and over 100g I think is a giant.Given that yours is under a year and already above those criteria, I think you'd be safe calling him one.

Thanks, im feeling better now, lol

Wow you have an amazing collection of geckos!Even one you hatched yourself.Im trying to breed my beardies and i even got 52 eggs but 51 died already. Or im not good on keeping eggs or my female was not very healthy when she laid them and the eggs were weak. Is that possible?

geckogrl6 Sep 21, 2007 04:08 PM

I don't know beardies, sorry. Anything is possible
