Hey All, I was curious as to who is having problems with their R-Zilla desert series 50 T5 bulbs, I have been informed of some issues with them and was curious if anybody here has had any problems with them.
thanks

The only reason they make a T5 is so you have no bulb brand selection with their new hoods. I'm not a firm believer in any one brand. Personally I think Zoo Med UVB's are better and they test out better from what I've read.
I am a retailer and have yet to have any complaints. we have been selling the bulbs, although not exclusivly, since they came out. what sort of problems are you having?
The R-Zilla lights produce an intense amount of UVB. They still produce UVB at 36" and even 48". I used them in a 36" tall cage for a Chameleon and within two days his eyes were swollen shut and his skin developed a burn that is still healing, I removed that light and put a Reptisun 10.0 back on him and he's doing fine. I have a UVB meter and the R-Zilla light at 6" produces about triple the UVB of California summer sunshine. I think as long as you leave the thin plastic cover on (which the UVB does penetrate) you will be ok, but honestly the Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 is still the best bulb on the market at this point.
