Hi
7 of 8 of my baby cal kings are out of the egg, one left with it's head sticking out but should emerge any time now.
I had a try at sexing them earlier by popping, but am not exactly sure what to look for. I don't want to put too much pressure on them as I am afraid of hurting them, but each and every one of them has been more than enthusiastic about showing me the interior of their cloacas (and what comes out of them lol) without me having to do so, lol.
So far only one little male has 'truly' shown himself by everting one of his hemipenes for me fully. The other 4 that I think are males have each shown 2 little bumps with dark pink spots on the top of them, which I am assuming are their hemipenes...or could these just be anal glands? These seem to be absent in the 2 I think are females, plus their cloacas seem overall smaller and narrower.
I haven't compared the tails yet, their all very feisty and am afraid to put them near each other, although this is probably the safest time to do it being pre-shed.
Thanks for the help!
