More KY locale pine snake photo's

Phil Peak Sep 17, 2007 05:48 PM

Here are some updated photo's of the cave region northern pine snake that Will and I found last year. This snake, an adult male, is thriving. We are hopeful that in time we will secure a mate from this locale. We have many things in place and believe it is only a matter of time.

This is most likely the only specimen from this locale in captivity. The phenotype appears to be similar to that of the west KY population though a distance of 100 miles or so separates this isolated group of pine snakes from those in the Tennessee Valley.

Hope you enjoy the photo's!

Phil

Phil those seem to have a yelowish cast to them. is that color really there or is it just a function of lighting? Awesome BTW

Thanks Tony. The snakes do indeed have a distinctive yellow color to them. Aside from being an interesting locale they are richly colored and beautiful snakes.

Thanks again, Phil
