new baby

I just got a new ball python baby over the weekend (9/16). The guy at the pet store said the last time she had eaten was the 7th. He told me to wait at least a week to try to feed her. Is that correct or should I try earlier? I'm not sure how old she is, but a little less than a foot long. Thanks for the help.

yes wait a week. Also do not handle it. try to feed in a week Then leave it alone for at least a day then handle for a little bit.

While waiting a week is fine.....usually 2-3 days is generally fine as well. I've never had a problem offering food to a new hatchling 2-3 days after receiving it. Either way is fine but from my experience 2-3 days is generally long enough for them to settle in and eat.

If they don't eat the first time around I would wait a full week before trying again though!
