Yes if it is long and wide enough!!!!!!!!!!
How Big is the box? Oh Im sorry I forgot N/P!!!!!!!!
There are many other concerns besides space that should also be taken into account. Lights, heat, ventilation, and accessability should also be considered. What gives? Are you trying to start a fight with Edward? It looks as though you are. I have been folowing the past posts, and it seems like you to like to contridict him. Another hint was the N/P!!! comment. What was that about? Are you making fun of him. If so, it seems a bit uncalled for. It is not serving any purpose here. If it sounds like I am defending Edward, I am. He has done nothing to you, and he has done a great deal for the forum. Give him a break, and a little credit. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the past history between Edward and ARKON but in this case all I can say is at least Arkon was trying to be helpful. Edwards post was pretty much useless. Why does he not recomend it? what are the other options? I have used rubbermaid boxes for a number of herps with much success but you have to take care with heating. Cut out the center of the lid leaving about 1 inch around the outside. Using silicone sealant, or better yet pop rivets and a metal strip, replace the center piec with 1/4 inch hardware cloth and you should be good to go. Just make sure you don't place the heat source directly on the top, even the screen part, because if it shifts there could be a problem. Use a clamp light type fixture or some other type fixture to make sure the light stays positioned over the screen. Also make sure that the box can not be shifted enough to position any of the plactic under the light. The whole thing could probably be done for under $25.00 and be very funtional.
Depending on the size of the box it could be used for a BTS. Some of those boxes are pretty darned big. Are there better options? maybe, Can you make it work? probably. I get the feeling that the original poster was looking for some suggestions.

Actually, I did send the original poster some suggestions and I have been conversing with him off and on for the last week. And, while Rubbermaid tubs can work, I still feel that there are better choices for most people. Plastic is not the easiest thing for most people to work with. It takes special care, and poses certain dangers if the heating is not set up with a great deal of thought. I did not, and do not, think that it is the best choice for an under the bed enclosure. It would require being pulled out and being pushed back in whenever he wanted access to the skink. I personally think a Sandmar style cage with sliding glass bypass doors would be more functional and visually more pleasing. I also feel that helping someone is great, but doing it with the ulterior motive of taking a jab at someone is counterproductive, and uncalled for. Besides, I do not see how his post was really that helpful. His post "Yes as long as it is wide enough!!!!!" really seems to be there not so much for help as for contradiction, as there are also legnth and height considerations that should also be addressed. His following post removes all doubt as to what his motives really were. I just thought it was kind of basically uncalled for.
I would still like to know what the measurements are for the plastic container that the original poster is wanting to use. That way, more suggestions can be made based on that assessment.
