Finaly hit on the Red Axanthic Pastel!

oz Sep 18, 2007 05:41 PM

This was the last clutch of Pastel Het Red to Het Red. Five eggs and I finally got a Pastel Red Axanthic and another really nice Red Axanthic too!

It's a boy!

Looks very similar to the Axanthic Pastel. Speaking of which, here is a comparison pic with two Red Axanthics and a VPI Axanthic.

My last Het Red clutch was produced by a Black Pastel. Stay tuned for that outcome. Will post more in a couple of weeks.

Gotta run... Thanks for looking.

Hey Jay,

Looking at the picture I can see why you would think so, but trust me when I say he’s a Red Axanthic Pastel. Corey Woods seems to think he’s a het and not a homo too. If you could see him in person, I’m sure you would agree with me. I’ve hatched out 4 het red pastels, 9 Red Axanthics, and a bazillion het reds so you should at least have a little faith in me.

On the flip side I totally understand if you remain skeptical... especially since i am quite the skeptic myself.

I’ll bring him to the NARBC Show in VA to vindicate myself!

Peace & Love,
Oz

Sorry, I may have said something I did not mean. I don't know the difference between the homo Red or het Red. I remember when they first came out, but did not keep up. But just to clarify, your animals (whatever they are) look great!

I thought you were messing with me, lol. You know these forums are a tough crowd!

When compared to Corey's the snake does not have as much blushing... but i don't see any yellow or beige on him at all. I will know with time since the het red pastels color up over time becoming a beige color.

Either way, it's all good Jay!
