Went herping and backpacking for three days this weekend. The snakes were not out in force as they usualy are in this location but I found a few none the less.
This snake was found by a fisherman swimming in the deschutes river I don't know how he did it but this water if fricken cold

After about a six hour hike and not a single snake we got to camp and I did some more looking around and found this guy, by far the best looking Crotalus oreganus I've found

It happened to rain on us that night and figured we were done finding snakes until it cleared up around 11am and I found this little guy

Coluber mormon are probably my favorite snake to catch besides Pituophis Heres my girlfriend with the same snake

All in all it was a good trip and anyday in the field is better than sitting on my couch. And catching some herps isn't to bad either! total count
tmtc fence lizards and sagebrush liards
3 southern alligator lizards
4 Yellow bellied racers
1 northern pacific rattler
1 aquatic garter
and doh no pacific gophers
