truck window decal

fishmichv2 Sep 19, 2007 10:02 AM

ive been wanting some decals for my truck so i decided to have my own made. i took some of the design from a shirt i bought from the michigan herp society but used one of my own pics and changed the wording and arrangement a bit. its roughly 12" by 11" and fits nicely in the side window.

Very cool decal!!....I'd like to get one. BUT, you might also want to first contact the Chicago Herpetological Society as I believe they designed the actual slogan for your decal and they have invested a lot of money in selling the 'sauga t-shirts. They are all about conservation and I would think they would love to sell these decals or endorse them in some way so you might want to get in touch with them at: www.chicagoherp.org

I personally can't think of a better decal on a car than this one!

this is something i have already thought of but thanks for the heads up rob. i dont post here too much but the fact that you frequent this forum is the main reason i included kingsnake in my places to post this decal. im familiar with the great work you do with my favorite species of snake and knew you would like the decal. i also thought you might know someone who i could contact about giving me the go ahead to get some more made up. at first i had not planned on having any more than two made but people seem very interested. i sent an email to a couple different people at the michigan society of herpetologists which is where i initially purchased the shirts from that gave me the idea. the email explains that if i get their permission to produce more of them, all profits would go to the massasauga conservation fund. ive been looking for any way i could to help for quite a while and this just seems like a good way to go about it. hopefully ill hear from someone soon.

Your intentions are definitely in the right place (and I want one for my vehicle!); that's why I just wanted to give you a little heads up that if you are going to borrow someone's slogan/idea, it's just a good idea to get their permission first - anything we can do to help 'sauga conservation always gets my thumbs up approval. When I incorporate some of the pics I see on this forum for my presentations, I always ask for their permission and I have never been turned down but it's just one of those good etiquette types of situations.
