I need a heat source for my milk snakes which are housed in plastic sweater boxes. I've been looking at many different types of heat mats, but most of them say not safe for plastic. Is there anything out there I can use?

I've used heat tape made by Calorique with sterilite containers for years. You will want a thermostat or dimmer to control the temps but it can be done safely.
Good Luck

In addition to what was mentioned, you can use Ultratherm heat mats from www.beanfarm.com or InteliTemp heat mats from Big Apple Pet Supply.
With any heat mat, you need to use a dimmer or controller. If you don't, then you endanger the cage inhabitants.
