GOING CARZY!!! (ot)

wvaherp Sep 19, 2007 02:49 PM

as i was saying on here last week, i'm trying to get the money together to add some more color to my collection. i think this is driving me nuts though! i had ONE guy so far call about my rifle, and he just got back to me 20 min. ago saying he's not interested anymore. that just royally pi$$ed me off. not even one of those "well something came up" excuses either. just outright said "i don't want it." and of course i have my male CRB practically sold but i have to wait until he can sell 2 BP's (he's a local breeder). by the time i can get this together i'm afraid it might be too late to ship in my region, or bryan will have sold the pair he offered me. and of course as per my deal with my girlfriend i can't cut into my paycheck to get them (already had to convince her to let me get two more snakes instead of one, lol.) ah, well. sorry about the long post/rant. had to vent, and if i try it with anyone else around here they think i'm crazy for wanting to get more snakes anyways.

You must be crazy, wanting more snakes, jeeze, you already have three, how many can one person own?

Selling stuff is always hit and miss. I see it with my BRB's all the time. I'll have someone all ready to go on getting a pair, select the two they want to place on hold then dissapear off the face of the earth....darn mercurians Meanwhile, have other buyers have to pass over those on hold, pick out ones they want and paypal me the funds before I can mark theirs as on hold. Even in the dead of winter when shipping is not safe they'll pay for them and worry about me having to take care of them until weather changes.... all kinds of folks out there!!! BTW, some of my best online customers have been the latter, buying and knowing they'd have to wait. We'd have long, slow back and forth dialogs. (OOuuu, that sounded a bit nasty didn't it?) I've even writen to them on behalf of their "happy campers" with stories about the whopper they ate, or how mean the camp counselor (me) was and they gave him a good bite! LOL

Hey Kare, if you read this chime in!!! How's about some updated pics?

Hi Dave,
My pair is doing great! This year I'm definitely letting them hook-up.
To everyone, I contacted Dave and bought a pair-paid ASAP and had to wait about 3 months for weather to get warm enough to ship. (I live in Minnesota.) Dave and I kept in contact with camp reports. Still chuckle over the "Mom, I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" email when they ate large rat pinks.
Cleaning is tonight, so I'll try to get some pics!

Lurking, somewhat. I don't get on here as often as I used to. We have several reptile shows right on the horizon. Did Kansas City, Mo. last weekend and Omaha, Ne. plus Tinley NARBC are coming fast. I have an order to make some crochet leopard geckos for delivery at Tinley. LOL. I seem to check into the forums during a lull or break at work.
I'll try to get a good pic of the kids tonight and post, plus some pics of my craft geckos. LOL.
I can hardly wait for Tinley. It is soooooo much fun!

I was kinda surprised to not only see that you had replied but even more so that it was so quickly after my original "hey Kare" post.

Yeah, would love to see your crochet geckos, the kids still have their camp crafts?

I hear you, brother. Seems like none of my family or friends likes snakes very much. This forum is a great outlet!

Less than a week for my male Indigo to arrive!!!

Thanks,
Ed

Man do I know the feeling that no one else around me likes snakes. I am currently making plans to sneak to a reptile show here over the weekend. I have to sneak because my family and my girlfriend don't want me to get another snake. But as I told them I have an empty cage that I need to fill

good luck with the reaction you get when you get another one. it really isn't so bad for me as far as family goes. my mom and dad used to manage a pet shop near DC when i was a baby. so, my mom doesn't mind snakes at all and my dad has always loved reptiles. he had all kinds of large constrictors before i was born, including his monster male burm. he got to about 13-14" by three years old and was still growing like a weed. for me, my main source of anti-snake sentiment comes from co-workers, friends, and my girlfriends family. although her mom likes to handle my CRB's. hope you have fun at the show though. i would have to drive about 1:15 north to get to the closest one around here, and by what i hear it's not a really good show. i'd love to make it to hamburg, pa sometime though, but it's like a 3.5 hr drive each way.

I know the feeling about not being anywhere near the shows. I live in Kansas, you'd think being smack in the middle of the country would put me close to some shows but it doesn't. The only show that comes close to me is the KC reptile show and I'm not sure how good it is, it's been a couple years since I last went and I'm looking forward to seeing how it has changed.
