Alternative food Sources

I have recently come across a couple of interesting alternatives to rats and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. One was a person feeding chicken drumsticks to his boas and would usually follow it with a rat to get the fiber needed from the hair. A second was a gentleman selling “sausages” at the Anaheim show. He said that he has been feeding them to his red tails for years with no problem. Has anyone else heard or tried any of these? I would appreciate any input.

Currently feeding the entire collection homegrown rats and mice.

Way back when (about 19 years ago) I had a burmese, about 12 feet. She would take turkey drumsticks right outa my hand. room temp, no heating, she'd just work her mouth onto it and swallow, no constricting, no strike at it. Was the wildest thing to watch, always blew my friends away!!

I've been feeding drumsticks along with rats to try and put just a little extra weight on some of my females. I drop them in boiling water for about 20 seconds, wait to make sure the temp inside them isn't too hot. I've found that when offering them it's easier on the boas if I offer them skinny part first, they love them and I haven't had any problems. Theres another site with lots of info on this subject send me a pm or an email if you would like some more info

Personally I dont question the diet supplement of poultry parts,Ive seen and heard of excellent results with-in several BCI,BCC,BCL,BCA forms.
From the food cost per pound aspect its hard to argue with $.49-$.75 per lb on 10lb bags common @ places like WalMart, verses rodent or rabbit @ 3-4 X the cost.
Anyway there are more keepers doing it then most people realize
