Sexing Snakes???

How should I sex my snakes there adults I don't have any probes to use??

It depends on what types of snakes they are. You can often sex adults of many species by simply comparing the tails. Males have longer tails that are thicker at the base while female tails are shorter and taper more quickly.

That said, in some snakes (kingsnakes, for example), the females have large scent glands at the base of the tail that can make their tails wider than males, but they still taper more rapidly than that of a male.

If you can get a good focused photo of the underside of the tail, someone here could probably help sex them.

Since this is the milksnake forum, I guess it would have been fair for me to assume they are milksnakes! - DOH!

Anyway, female milks often have the large glands at the base of the tail which can make sexing confusing for inexperienced people. Of course, if you have a pair, you will still be able to see the difference.
