the numbers before species names...?

anuraanman Sep 19, 2007 11:48 PM

Just a random question,
what does it mean when you guys put numbers before a species name?

for example,

0.0.1 wc gartersnake

or

1.1 Black Milksnake

I'm sure it's simple but I keep running into it again and again and have no idea what it means. In particular, I noticed a price difference between two snakes of the same species from the same person where one had a 1.0 and the other had a 1.1.

Thanks
Kiley

The first digit represents "male"

second digit represents "female"

third digit represents "un-known"(not sexed)animals

so if you had two males, and one female, and four un-sexed babies,.....it would look as follows

2.1.4

the price difference between the 1.0 and the 1.1 will be much more, because the second example of 1.1 represents a pair, whereas the 1.0 represents a lone male.
