northern pacific breeding (LOTS of ?'s)

bengalensis Aug 21, 2003 05:54 PM

Im by no means an experienced keeper of this species, but I have had the pleasure of caring for a female of this variety since last year when I attained her as a hatchling.
She is well over 2' and has exceptional body wieght. She never turns down a meal I was wondering if her sexual maturity is solely based on age(if so, at what age), or is in in part determined by growth rate and body condition? I want to breed her in the future. I would like to find an albino male, or something with unusual markings. What is there avail as far as color morphs? Also, how do these need to be housed when breeding? Seperately, only to be put together for breeding season, or together at all times? Are there any technical aspects that I need to be aware of, as far as providing a den, feeding a breeding pair, introducing a second male to induce breeding, etc??
Sorry for all the questions, I just wanna do it right.

Thanks for your time, and best regards,

Michelle
