I would try a variety of wild GREEN grasshoppers, and let him pick, chams love green grasshoppers, they also love silkworms. is he 4 1/2 inches snout to vent or snout to tail tip? the size of prey is roughly this, the LENGTH of the cricket as wide as the chams mouth. You can also dye the crix green with food coloring, some say this helps. There is also an algae powder that does the same thing plus adds vit and min. What kind of cham is it?? What kind of setup do you have? Be sure and dont handle him much, this can make him stressed and scared of you, at least at first, and he is still adjusting.

it from snout to vent, and the cage is about 8' tall, 4' wide, and 2 ' 1/2" deep. and he is a vield.
did you try the green grasshoppers? What are you using for lighting? Ask the person you got him from what he used to eat.

at lot of times when you get a chameleon, they are very stressed out by the move and the new home. you need to give him a couple of days to adjust, this simply may be stress related. try covering his cage with newspaper or towels, this will reduce the outside stress of seeing you and all your stuff, and allow him to focus on his home. as long as you are making sure to keep him hydrated with lots of mistings and maybe even a drip system, he should come around. don't peek in at him a whole lot. you could also take a shallow bowl, place some crickets in it, and leave it in his cage, he may feed from there. you could also very easily catch some house flies and put them in there, they are wonderful for stimulating chameleons to eat.

another thing, on the size of the cricket, take a look at your chams head. the cricket should be no wider than the space between the eyes, and no longer than the head.
