LINCOLNSHIRE ECHO (Lincoln, UK) 19 September 07 'Reptile Hotel' Opens In City
Reptile owners now have a dedicated retreat where they can leave their pets while they go on holiday.
Selina and John Coulbeck have set up the retreat at their home in Haydor Avenue, Ermine East, Lincoln.
As the couple already have a monitor lizard, an Australian Water Dragon, two bearded dragons, an iguana, two Rankin's Dragons, two pythons and a boa constrictor, they decided to open their doors to other people's exotic pets.
Mrs Coulbeck (37) said: "It was only two years ago that we got our first bearded dragon and it just went from there.
"When exotic pet owners go on holiday they often have to get someone to look after them who may not necessarily have first hand experience of caring for them.
"We think it would be nice for people to know they could bring their pets to us to look after and perhaps it would be a holiday for the pets as well.
Pamela Hunt (38) and Carl Pickersgill (32) take their seven-year-old son Ashley's royal python to the Coulbecks when they go on holiday.
"It's difficult to find people who can look after snakes and other reptiles so it's lucky that we know Selina and John," said Mr Pickersgill, of Edendale Gardens, Ermine West.
"You know that whatever reptile they have they will look after it properly."
