whats up with the letter grading of pastels??? does anyone have a pict of A B C grades??? How low does it go? Thanks
Although I don't have any pics I think an A grade pastel would be a really nice, bright, clean pastel, a B grade would be an ok, average pastel, and a C grade as far as I'm concerned is a pretty crappy lookin' pastel that I wouldn't want. Hope that helps.

.......I guess there is a grade but I never knew or thought about it.......guess it would be a way to distinguish between a good and bad pastel......
it would depend on if you are selling it, buying it, hatching it, or never saw a good one before...
it would depend on the person too......the bigger their ego the better their babies seem to be.....?
......not being mean...just writing the facts....
.......there are good bad and ugly pastels.......I got some of each this year.......
the good ones are the ones I'll show you but not sell you......hehehehe.......
........good luck........
and remeber ...pretty pastels grow up ugly alot and ugly pastels can grow up even uglier....or just as ugly......or at times..actually look better after a year than they did at hatching......
.....I love pastels.......I just hate their new prices....

Wow! I'd say that's an "If you have to ask..." grade! Great looking animal.
What about this little guy?

In response to the two posts above. They aren't "screamers" IMO but they are pretty solid pastels. I'd say B to high grade B.
These grades will be diffrent from everyone. There is no way to get a set in stone grade....unless I guess if it is a top notch A grade that everyone can agree on or a terrible one that everyone can agree on being a C.
To be honest I've never seen the grades before until this post. I'm not a fan of it because everyone has diffrent opinions.

Every seller is going to "grade" their animals differently. Not everyone will grade the animals they are selling.
For some people, grading is just another way of making a little more money.
For others, it's a way for them to help the buyer distinguish between the various animals they have for sale. Since colors are not always represented properly by digital cameras and monitor settings vary from user to user it is sometimes easier for a seller to grade their animals to show the potential buyer...
"This is an "A" grade (or 5 star, or whatever type of scale they decide on) and therefore the best I have to offer - if you want it you will pay more, but it'll be worth it. This animal is a "B" and therefore average... I'm only charging market price for this."
Take the grades with a grain of salt. Everyone will have different opinions about the appearance of individual animals and some people are better at taking pictures and presenting their animals than others. Forget about the grades... look for the animal that sticks out to you. In the end it's your opinion of the animal that determines whether it's worth buying.
