Best case scenario clutch

RobHaneisen Sep 20, 2007 09:10 PM

This was a clutch of huge Honduran eggs laid on July 3 from a male tangerine albino male to my tangerne double het for hybino female (the one that ate the seventh egg after it nearly became stuck).

Anyway, statistics would say that of these six egs, half should come out albino and the rest would be hets. Also, all the babies would be 50% chance het for hypo.

Can you say Jackpot! All albinos, four of which are absolute screaming tangerine albinos. And they are all huge. Hatched 9/18.

It's been a hot and cold year for me. Some clutches were let downs (like the clutch of seven that produced one albino and six hets with all the hets being male) and other clutches have been insanely good (like the 12 female vanishing pattern hypos).

This clutch of albinos is my favorite yet.

Maybe you can double up and they'll all be females!

Thats great man, some of the best looking tangerine albinos I have seen.
Speaking of odds, I sold a friend a pair of double het (albino and aberrant) ruthveni back in (00).He just hatched the first amel this year after 16 hatchlings all being normal. He was starting to think that they weren't hets.

Wow, that's great Rob. You really scored considering those odds. Those really are beauties too.
