Update on the Dragon

HandInTheFlame Sep 21, 2007 12:58 PM

Hey guys,
I posted a couple weeks ago when my dragon's beard turned black and the vet couldn't figure out what was going on...
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that she's doing much better now. We haven't had her to the vet in two weeks (previously she was being rushed in once a week), and she's finally taking food on her own without us having to force it too her (even sort of chasing after it when it starts to crawl away). She's still not so interested in her greens, but goes nuts for the super worms and an occasional wax worm treat. We also found out that she's male, but the pronouns haven't really switched over haha...
Anyway, no more heavy breathing episodes, no more force feeding, no more convulsing, and no more turning black... Sadly, I don't think she'll ever be quite right because of her care at a previous home (she didn't get proper heat/lighting/food), but we're doing all we can for her and she is seeming to perk up quite a bit.
Thanks for the concern!

Eh, you never know. All my rescues turned out way better than I would have imagined. Especially ones that I got at less than full grown. A little extra love and care goes a long way in the dragon world.
