Is that calico or piebald?

rainbowsrus Sep 21, 2007 06:33 PM

Good question, is unproven. Either way, is awesome and I will do my best to make more just like him!!!!

That is COOL, Dave!
Has it been proven genetic?
Aaron

rainbowsrus Sep 21, 2007 06:38 PM

Long story, no it's not been proven.

Was bred one time, produced a small litter.

Two pairs were sold at two shows to unknown persons as offspring from displayed dad. Never been heard from/about since.

The remainder were being raised up when a t-stat failure cooked the entire rack including other stuff.

Brian lost heart in the project and he sat for some time (a year or two), now I have the male and will see what I can do with him. Gonna start this year with two of my top notch females!

Even better!
Good luck with guy!
What's up the albino BRB?
Won't be long until you guys make snows, eh?
Aaron

rainbowsrus Sep 21, 2007 06:56 PM

Well, the albino is still under wraps, IMO they want to be in a position to produce good qtys before they release any into circulation.

I know some are already working on Ghost, I also have Hypo and Anery but the hypo's are just now getting to breeding size and another year before my older aneries will be ready to go (all BRB's)

And of course, if I have my way, calico plus everything!!!!

Thanks, Dave!
At first I couldn't tell the anerys from the normals very well. (I know she's genotypically het for anery, but phenotypically, she's a "normal." The side-by-side pics clear EVERYTHING up!
It's amazing to see so much red in what would be considered "normal." It’s really tempting me to get into them. Are their humidity requirements THAT different or “just a little more humid?”
Thanks again!
Aaron

rainbowsrus Sep 22, 2007 03:28 PM

NP Aaron,

That's one of the really nice things about this line, the normal colors are still bright, yeah there is no mistaking them when side by side with a normal. The humidity requirements for babies are higher but easily maintained with the right caging and a moist hide box. I would be happy to steer you in the right direction and give you any advice I can.

Honestly, I gthink BRB's are about to take off with all the available and upcoming morphs, and all the designer combos are totally untapped!!

Hey Linda,

That's the one Brian Sharp had. Bred one time, small litter. sould two pairs to unknown individuals at two shows. The remainder of the babies were lost in a thermostat failure. So back to square one.

I haven't been over there in a long time, I just remember my all time favorite Rainbow as being her and you being the owner...and when I saw that...I just imagined what a calico version of her would be like, and I am sure it would be even more awsome that I can even imagine...

Congrats again...I'll have to visit the Rainbow forum more often...
