Earliest Slit Eggs ?

balls4all Sep 22, 2007 03:17 AM

Whats the earliest anyone has slit eggs and what temps ?
I have a clutch that I slit at 52 days due to a molding egg and Im certain is was too soon. Posting on other boards I have learned the pigment of the skin is the last to develop and the babies are olmost pure white with dark saddles. They seem to be doing well , Still moving but staying in the egg. They have been slit for 24hrs .Thanks

They should be fine i slit mine on day 49, got the dates mixed up but they all hatched and are fine.

Yes they are fine I usually cut on day 52 but have cut as early as day 48. So either youve got your dates mixed up is the reason for the snakes not having color or youve got something special on your hands

Im sure I am on the money on the date, Laid 7-31-07
I watched the kevin Mckurly video and he had the whole top off the egg off and poking his finger around. Tomorrow is 54 days and Im tempted to cut more of an opening to get a good look. They have yet to poke there heads out but are moving around and seem to be doing fine. I know I should just wait but I really want a good look. From what I can see they look very pale off white with black bands. Someone considered I may be looking at there bellies but the pattern of the saddles look like there top.Im impatient for sure!
