Got Some EGGS!!!......question....

jsherps May 22, 2003 09:33 AM

hey,

My patternless female leopard gecko laid a clutch of eggs earlier this morning. The eggs are big white and plump. However, they do have small dents on top of them. I put them in a deli cup w/ vermiculite and it's in my Hovabator set at 85 degrees. Is there anything I can do to get the dents out instead of just misting them? Or should I just not worry about it. The dents are barely a centimeter long.

Thanks

hello, congratulations!! you can try putting a damp papertowel over them.not to wet though. it will take a little bit for them to loose the dents, maybe a day. good luck!!! ariel

I've tried paper towels but what gets dents out the quickest (of fertile eggs that is) is just piling a little damp vermiculite on top of them. It traps in moisture which they suck up almost every fertile egg i have had has dented in (one which is about to hatch today had a dent so bad the egg was practically flat) Leave the vermiculite on top for 24-48 hours its always worked for me. GOod luck .
