boa genetics..

Is the anery gene dominant or recessive?
If I bred an anery to a normal, would half be anery or would half be het anery? Or would half be het and half anery?

Also, If I bred 2 hypos, are any of them super hypos, or is the "super" a certain inherited bloodline?

Thanks

no anery is like albino where you would need two animals with each at least one gene alle anery. Also with the hypos a super is just as you said and nt a certain bloodline.

Hope this helps

Anerythrism in Boas is a recessive trait. The entire litter would 100% het for Anery.

The term "Super Hypo" is often referred to the homozygous state of the Salmon gene. Meaning the whole litter if bred to a normal should be Salmon. If you breed 2 Salmons, "approximately" half the litter should be homozygous, while 1/4 would be Salmon, and 1/4 WT, or normal in appearance. But Salmon being a variable Dominant gene, the numbers presented are like a roll of the dice.

Here's a link for you. Lots of info.

Slight edit. Hypo X Hypo (salmon X salmon) would produce 1/4 Wild Type, 1/2 Hypo (salmon), and 1/4 Super Hypo (Super Salmon).

Can't tell Supers from regular Hypos with 100% certainty, so all the hypos from that breeding are labeled possible supers and need to be bred to prove out.
